Software Development Engineer (12 month contract), EU Prime Savings Tech Hub

Amazon is seeking a Full-stack Software Development Engineer for a 12-month contract position within the EU Prime Savings Tech Hub. This role offers flexibility with multiple location options across major European cities including London, Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam, Munich, and Luxembourg. The position is part of the EU Prime Savings team (Prime Xclusive Genie, PXG), which focuses on enhancing the value proposition for EU Amazon Prime members.

The role involves designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software applications that will directly impact the Amazon Prime customer experience. As an SDE2, you'll be responsible for end-to-end project ownership, working on both backend and frontend technologies to create seamless shopping experiences. The position requires collaboration with UI/UX designers, business partners, and other SDEs to build innovative customer-facing features.

The EU Prime Savings team's mission is to increase annual savings for Prime members through comprehensive promotional strategies. The team aims to transform the Prime shopping experience by creating more engaging opportunities throughout the year, not just during major sales events. This initiative is crucial for ensuring Prime members receive exceptional value from their subscription, ultimately driving customer loyalty and increased spending levels.

Key responsibilities include designing scalable systems, owning full-stack solutions, making strategic engineering decisions, and building experimentation frameworks. The role requires strong technical skills, particularly in object-oriented programming languages like Java or C++, and experience with large-scale system design. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of professional software development experience and a track record of delivering complex technical solutions.
