Software Development Engineer, Alexa Personality and Creative

Come join the Personality and Creative team in Alexa, Amazon's AI solution behind Amazon Echo and other products. As a Software Development Engineer, you'll have significant influence on Alexa's overall strategy by helping define product features, driving system architecture, and spearheading best practices in language models.

You'll work with artificial intelligence systems to deliver real experiences, partnering with applied scientists, voice designers, product managers and quality assurance to ensure Alexa has a delightful personality and creative abilities. You'll support Alexa's core EQ infrastructure and be responsible for delivering new cross-cutting generative capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Writing highly efficient, testable code using Java, C++, or C#
• Working on application scaling, resiliency, availability, and failover
• Researching implementations for optimal customer experience
• Taking ownership and driving projects to completion
• Using LLM models and running evaluations to ensure excellent customer experience
• Innovating, simplifying, and increasing efficiencies
• Using data to make decisions and validate assumptions
• Automating processes
• Contributing to design patterns, standards, and processes

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year based on geographic location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits including medical, financial, and other benefits.
