Software Development Engineer, AWS Proactive Security Detective Tooling

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Proactive Security Detective Tooling (PSDT) team is seeking a Software Development Engineer with a strong passion for security-at-scale. You'll join a team dedicated to building services that discover and audit AWS-owned websites for misconfigurations that could lead to security issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop robust large-scale distributed systems for processing data
• Provide technical leadership to other engineers
• Own, drive, and deliver software solutions
• Execute against project plans and delivery commitments
• Develop relationships with internal and external partner teams
• Establish long-term success strategies, development best practices, and operational excellence processes
• Collaborate with peers to ensure alignment with other development teams
• Mentor junior and new team members

The role involves working on challenging web-based problems at scale, including crawling, fuzzing, user journeys, and CI/CD integration. You'll be at the forefront of web security, responsible for the security and availability of all AWS services, including EC2, S3, and over 100 others.

The PSDT team develops tools to keep AWS safe from malicious actors, preventing, detecting, and mitigating security events. You'll work closely with Application Security, Threat Intel, Security Operations, and Security Analyst teams to drive security improvements across AWS.

This high-visibility team solves security challenges at a massive scale through automation, dealing with immense quantities of data and pushing the envelope on scale and advanced analytical techniques to find and mitigate security threats.

While prior security expertise is not required, a passion for solving security challenges in innovative ways is essential. You'll develop a broad and deep understanding of the overall AWS security posture and contribute to core technology components to improve and scale security measures.
