Software Development Engineer, Commerce Platform ADC

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join their Commerce Platform team, specifically focusing on solutions for isolated environments supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community. This role is part of AWS's specialized service teams working with some of the largest distributed systems in the world.

The position involves implementing innovative cloud computing solutions and solving complex technical challenges within AWS's Commerce Platform. You'll be working on services that enable Commerce Platform to operate in air-gapped regions, processing trillions of events monthly for bill generation, payment processing, fraud prevention, and analytics.

As an SDE, you'll be responsible for designing and building solutions that facilitate operations in isolated environments while ensuring customers can effectively purchase and manage AWS services. The role requires working with highly secure systems, often in environments isolated from the public internet, creating unique engineering challenges that demand innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities include driving engineering implementations, working on architectural designs, mentoring team members, and maintaining operational excellence. You'll be expected to dive deep into AWS system architecture, own operational metrics, and communicate technical concepts effectively to various stakeholders.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year, depending on location, plus additional benefits including medical coverage, financial benefits, and career growth opportunities. This role requires US citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance, with the requirement to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
