Description For Software Development Engineer II, Device OS

Join Amazon's Appstore Distribution team to develop next-generation products in the Entertainment Devices space. This role focuses on developing products, services, SDKs, and tools for mobile app developers to manage their apps on Amazon Appstore, as well as building systems to curate a catalog of hundreds of thousands of mobile apps for Fire TV and Fire Tablet store.

As a Software Development Engineer II, you'll be working in an entrepreneurial environment solving complex technical problems and delivering innovative solutions that directly impact customer experience of Purchase, Download & Install apps in Amazon AppStore. The team enables customer and developer flywheel on devices by making it seamlessly easy for developers to deliver their apps/in-app content on Amazon.

The position involves working with industry-leading programming skills, particularly in Android development and high-volume service architectures. You'll be part of a team that entertains and delights hundreds of millions of customers across devices with a vast selection of relevant apps, games, and services.

Daily responsibilities include participating in stand-up calls, collaborating with peers for design & code reviews, and developing robust & highly scalable solutions following Agile practices. The technologies span from device software to high-scale services and efficient tools for developers.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about creating new products and features from scratch while managing ambiguity in a fast-paced environment where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years.
