Description For Software Development Engineer II, Employee Services Tech

Amazon's Employee Services Tech team is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join their mission of making Amazon "Earth's Best Employer and Earth's Safest Place to Work". This role is part of the Amazonian Experience and Technology (AET) organization, which is responsible for critical human capital management technology including payroll, benefits, time and attendance, disability and leaves, hiring, immigration, learning, and health and safety systems.

The position involves building and maintaining systems that support millions of Amazon employees across 62 countries, speaking 30+ languages. You'll be working on creating frustration-free benefits and HR experiences, developing personalized and contextual solutions for employee service needs, and building scalable systems that work across multiple countries with varying regulatory requirements.

As an SDE II, you'll be responsible for inventing and developing new technologies, integrating existing systems, and creating solutions that directly impact every Amazon employee's work life. The role requires strong technical skills to build enterprise-scale applications, with a focus on making benefits decisions and HR processes more streamlined and user-friendly.

The compensation is competitive, ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year based on geographic location, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical and financial benefits. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of professional software development experience and strong system design capabilities.
