Software Development Engineer II (SDE), MONA

Power AWS from the Inside Out! We're the team that provides the critical nervous system for AWS - enabling secure console access to millions of servers and network devices, managing the automation backbone of AWS's entire network infrastructure, and maintaining precision timing across the globe down to the nanosecond.

The MONA (Management, Out-of-band Networks, and Automation) team is at the heart of AWS operations, responsible for:

• Managing 300,000+ production devices
• Providing secure console access to millions of AWS servers and network devices worldwide
• Operating the management network for automated device provisioning
• Running high-precision timing infrastructure with nanosecond accuracy

As a Software Development Engineer II, you will:

• Help establish technical direction and foster team culture
• Take end-to-end ownership of the software development lifecycle
• Lead architecture decisions and participate in design reviews
• Champion operational and technical improvements
• Work directly with customers to address issues
• Build critical systems that power AWS infrastructure
• Design automation systems for network device configuration
• Develop scalable solutions using Python and other technologies
