Software Development Engineer, Intent Driven Network

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to innovation. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers.

• Gathering requirements and choosing technologies
• Designing features and spinning new services
• Coding, reviewing, and deploying software globally
• Maintaining services
• Contributing to every phase of the development process
• Deploying scalable software systems worldwide

We're looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer with production quality software services experience, comfortable in a fast-paced environment with rapid delivery of new services and features. The ideal candidate will have:

• Established software engineering expertise
• Experience developing and launching extensive distributed systems
• Ability to deliver high-quality, extensible design and code
• Mentoring and guiding junior engineers
• Managing competing priorities and bringing order to ambiguous scenarios
• Implementing optimizations for performance, scalability, and efficiency
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Data-driven and analytical approach

You'll be part of the team working on AWS Intent Driven Network, reimagining how the AWS network is managed. This project involves building management plane services from the ground up, shaping how one of the largest networks on the planet will be operated for at least the next decade.
