Software Development Engineer, Japan Operations

Amazon Global-focused Operations Technology Solutions (ARTS) team is seeking experienced Software Engineers to innovate and automate Amazon JP Operations and beyond. This role focuses on reinventing how Amazon handles Supply Chain in Japan and emerging marketplaces.

The position involves optimizing all aspects of fulfillment, from inventory allocation across Fulfillment Centers to final delivery. You'll work on implementing Worldwide technology locally and creating novel software solutions across various business spaces including inventory distribution, return logistics, Fulfillment Center layout planning, and truck planning.

As a Software Development Engineer, you'll be:

• Designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining distributed software solutions independently
• Working across technical stacks from web applications and backend services to cloud architecture and machine learning
• Collaborating directly with technical and business teams, both locally and worldwide
• Participating in daily standups and providing status updates
• Creating technical design documents to drive consensus between internal team and stakeholders
• Developing software with uninterrupted focus time
• Learning and implementing new cloud technologies
