Within this project, Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) focuses on developing secure, high-performance satellite communications technologies specifically for US National and International security and defense.
As a Software Development Engineer in this role, you'll be at the forefront of designing and maintaining foundational software that extends Kuiper capabilities to prestigious government customers including NASA, DoD, and other National Security organizations. Your work will involve creating new software services for mission-critical space safety and sustainability applications, requiring expertise in high-assurance, fault-tolerant software development.
The position demands proficiency in modern programming languages, particularly Rust, and involves working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You'll be tackling complex challenges in secure satellite communications, collaborating with cross-functional teams including hardware, security, systems, and product specialists to develop scalable, real-time solutions.
This is an onsite position (5 days/week) available in Redmond, WA, El Segundo, CA, or Northridge, CA, with relocation benefits provided. The role requires US citizenship due to the sensitive nature of government projects. You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary technology team focused on developing targeted and scalable solutions for custom satellite and ground applications.
The compensation package is comprehensive, ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year based on geographic location, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and full medical coverage.
