Software Development Engineer, Route 53

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to innovation.

This position is part of the Amazon Route 53 team in Herndon, VA. Route 53 is a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) service offered by AWS. We operate in over 50 locations worldwide, providing advanced functionality such as latency-based routing, Private DNS, Geo DNS routing, DNS failover, and integration with various AWS services.

As a Software Development Engineer, you'll:

• Work on deep, technical problems spanning core topics in computer science
• Lead the team in building and running good software in a real-world environment
• Collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers
• Help deliver the highest standards for safety and security
• Experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas

The role involves:

• Listening to customers and synthesizing their needs
• Rapidly iterating services to quickly put features into customers' hands
• Working on prototype development, code instrumentation, feature implementation, and proposal drafting

Compensation:

• Base pay ranges from $129,300/year to $223,600/year, depending on geographic market
• Total compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits
