Software Engineer , WW Sustainability

The Sustainability Measurement & Abatement Technology team builds technical solutions to track, record, and forecast Amazon's WW impact on the Environment (i.e., Carbon, Water, Waste, etc.). This includes calculating past and current impacts and future abatement plans, ensuring credibility through standards and validations, and highlighting non-obvious opportunities for Amazon's global business teams.

We are looking for a seasoned software development engineer to lead a highly ambiguous and complex program to help Amazon's supplier provide data to enable us to measure their carbon footprint at scale. This role will collaborate closely with product managers, TPMs and program managers to build and launch products in the supplier measurement space.

Key job responsibilities:

• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
• Lead and mentor other engineers.
• Translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concepts.
• Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
