The role involves working with Apache ecosystem technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive) and AWS services (Redshift, EMR, Glue) to design and implement data warehouse infrastructure. You'll be creating and optimizing ETL processes, implementing real-time data streaming solutions using technologies like Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis, and ensuring data integrity through quality checks and governance processes.
As a Sr. Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing a deep understanding of various data sources and applying this knowledge to solve complex business problems. You'll work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and a growing global team to analyze data and derive insights that drive Amazon's consumer marketing success.
The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $139,100 to $240,500 per year, depending on location and experience. Key responsibilities include designing data solutions to scale AB Ads data, implementing a global data strategy, and moving the organization towards a data-as-a-service model.
