Join Amazon Robotics to develop the next generation of world-class robotics and safety systems. As a Senior Embedded Engineer, you'll work with a multidisciplinary team to bring groundbreaking ideas to full-scale production devices used by thousands of associates in Amazon's facilities worldwide. The role focuses on developing and maintaining both safety and non-safety rated systems for possibly the world's largest autonomous robot fleet.

You'll be part of the firmware team, comprised of talented engineers who passionately apply cutting-edge advances in robotics to solve real-world challenges. The team takes safety seriously while striving to deliver high-performance products. You'll work on mastering multiple components including networking/wifi, security, and various sensors, while participating in system architecture and collaborating with coworkers.

The position requires strong technical expertise in embedded systems, particularly with C/C++ programming, and experience leading or mentoring engineering teams. You'll be involved in the complete development lifecycle, from design and architecture to implementation and testing. Responsibilities For Sr. Embedded Engineer, Amazon Robotics

  • Develop and maintain both safety and non-safety rated systems for autonomous robot fleet
  • Learn and master multiple components including networking/wifi, security, and various sensors
  • Participate in system architecture and collaborate with coworkers
  • Provide feedback in peer review process and communicate with technical leadership
  • Create solutions balancing world-class performance and safety
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and debug robotic systems
  • Participate in design process and safety hazard analysis
  • Implement new products and features
  • Write automated tests and perform live testing

Requirements For Sr. Embedded Engineer, Amazon Robotics

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • 5+ years of development experience in C or C++ within an embedded environment or with robotic systems
  • Direct hands-on experience designing, developing, and debugging consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive systems, avionics, industrial, or telecommunications product
