Sr Network Dev Engineer III, AWS Direct Connect

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an exceptional Senior Network Development Engineer to join the AWS Direct Connect team, which is responsible for enabling customers to establish dedicated network connections from their premises to the AWS cloud. This role is crucial in defining and building the next generation of the AWS Direct Connect service, which is currently available in more than 60 locations across 22 countries.

As a Sr Network Development Engineer, you will provide senior technical expertise in designing and inventing the future of the network underlying our AWS Direct Connect service. You'll be working within the Direct Connect Network Engineering organization, responsible for designing all aspects of the global network fabric. This includes making critical decisions about hardware platforms, physical topologies, routing architectures, and software control systems.

The role requires deep expertise in network hardware, routing protocols, and large-scale network design. You should have extensive knowledge of ASICs, optics, and router system design, along with significant experience implementing routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF. We're particularly interested in engineers who have designed, operated, and implemented networks at very large scale and have pushed platforms and protocols to their limits.

Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing network infrastructure, leading complex network projects, providing critical support for network issues, and driving innovation across our infrastructure. You'll work closely with product teams to define the customer experience of Direct Connect and other AWS network-related products, while ensuring our network fabric meets all service requirements.
