Sr. Research Engineer, Machine Learning, AGI Foundations

The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team at Amazon is seeking a Senior Research Engineer with expertise in machine learning to spearhead the development of cutting-edge multimodal systems. This role combines advanced machine learning research with practical engineering implementation, focusing on scaling pre-training workflows and building efficient models.

The position offers an opportunity to work with Amazon's vast computational resources and heterogeneous data sources to advance the state of the art in multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI. The role requires both technical excellence in distributed systems and deep knowledge of machine learning, particularly in areas like FSDP, NVIDIA NeMo, and Megatron Core.

As a senior member of the AGI Foundations team, you'll have significant influence on overall strategy and architecture decisions. You'll work at the intersection of engineering and applied science, collaborating closely with applied scientists to optimize training workflows and implement highly distributed training techniques.
