Description For Sr. Satellite Test Engineer, Integrated Vehicle Testing

Project Kuiper, Amazon's ambitious low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, is seeking a Senior Satellite Test Engineer to join their innovative team. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work at the forefront of space technology, helping to deliver reliable internet connectivity to communities worldwide.

The position combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic thinking, requiring expertise in satellite systems testing and validation. You'll be responsible for architecting cutting-edge test infrastructure and managing the entire testing lifecycle of satellites - from initial build through functional testing to spacecraft validation. The role is crucial in establishing processes for reliably integrating and launching thousands of satellites.

Working in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment, you'll collaborate with thought leaders across multiple technology domains. The position demands high standards and an entrepreneurial mindset, as you'll be pushing the boundaries of what's possible in satellite technology. You'll work closely with various teams, including avionics, payload, software, manufacturing, and ground support.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing complex test campaigns, creating automated test sequences using Python and MATLAB, and implementing innovative solutions to optimize testing capabilities. You'll also lead organization-wide test strategies to mitigate product risks and ensure mission success.

The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $136,100 to $235,200 per year, depending on location and experience, plus comprehensive benefits. This position is based in Redmond, WA, and requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency due to export control regulations.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of hands-on testing experience, strong programming skills, and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Experience with space hardware testing processes and satellite hardware integration is highly valued. If you're passionate about space technology and want to be part of a team that's revolutionizing global internet connectivity, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact.
