Sr. Security Engineer, AWS Security Cloud Response

The AWS Cloud Security Response team is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their dynamic team responsible for managing the security and availability of AWS Cloud services. This role is crucial in protecting AWS infrastructure and customers through the 'Security of the Cloud' aspect of the Shared Responsibility Model.

The position combines tactical security operations with strategic thinking, requiring expertise in incident response, security operations, and cloud security. You'll work with both internal and external stakeholders to address security challenges at massive scale while developing automation and scalability improvements.

As a Sr. Security Engineer, you'll be part of a global follow-the-sun rotation, handling security incidents across AWS's 200+ products. Your responsibilities include triaging security issues, determining their impact, and driving appropriate remediation efforts. You'll communicate with various stakeholders, from service teams to AWS Security Leadership, ensuring security issues are addressed with the right level of urgency.

The role requires strong technical proficiency in network and operating system security, cryptography, software security, and incident response. You'll need excellent communication skills to work with teams across Amazon and the ability to make risk-based decisions that balance security and business needs.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of incident response experience, strong cloud security knowledge (preferably AWS), and programming/scripting capabilities.
