Sr. Software Dev Engineer, AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF)

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Web Application Firewall (WAF) team. This role involves building and maintaining a highly available, low-latency distributed system that allows customers to protect their web applications from attacks. The WAF team enables customers to author and associate firewall policies, configuring rules that allow, block, monitor, or CAPTCHA web requests based on defined conditions.

The position offers the opportunity to work on challenging computer science problems, including building highly available distributed micro-services and global scaling across AWS Regions and CloudFront edge locations. The team is responsible for both the direct customer experience and per-request processing of rules for CloudFront, API Gateway, Application Load Balancer, and AppSync.

As a senior engineer, you'll play a lead role in designing and implementing solutions that have no precedent in this problem space. You'll be involved in the complete product lifecycle from inception to deployment and beyond, working with cutting-edge technology and directly impacting AWS security services.
