Sr. Software Development Engineer, Big Data Technologies

Amazon's eCommerce Foundation (eCF) is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join their Business Data Technologies (BDT) group. This role is at the heart of Amazon's data processing infrastructure, handling petabytes of data from thousands of sources including catalog, inventory, customer orders, and Alexa systems. The position involves working with cutting-edge AWS technologies like Redshift, EMR, Glue, LakeFormation, and SageMaker to build scalable solutions that power Amazon's massive data operations.

As a Senior SDE, you'll be instrumental in developing innovative products including next-generation data catalog, discovery engine, and transformation systems, while advancing Ray framework integration with AWS technologies. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance technical excellence with mentorship and strategic planning.

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in distributed systems and data processing with strong leadership capabilities. You'll work directly with sophisticated customers across Amazon, including Research Scientists and ML Specialists, to optimize their data solutions.
