Description For Sr. Wireless Communication and DSP Engineer, Wireless Systems

Project Kuiper is revolutionizing global connectivity through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. As a Sr. Wireless Communication and DSP Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing and developing Ka band and S/C band communication payload and customer terminal systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to innovate in wireless technology with minimal legacy constraints.

You'll be responsible for leading the implementation of physical layer design on reference and test platforms, working within a team that defines the overall communication system architecture. The position involves developing FPGA solutions, embedded software architecture, and collaborating with ASIC teams to build ultra-reliable modem solutions.

The role requires expertise in wireless communication systems, digital signal processing, and embedded systems development. You'll work on critical aspects like time/frequency tracking in LEO systems and interface with flight computer systems. This is a chance to shape the future of satellite communications, working from algorithm specification through to system integration.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $143,300 to $247,600 based on location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. You'll be part of Amazon's innovative Project Kuiper team, working on technology that will provide internet access to underserved communities worldwide.

Key technical areas include FPGA development, embedded systems, wireless communications, and digital signal processing. The role requires collaboration across multiple disciplines and teams, making it ideal for someone who combines technical expertise with strong communication skills.

Due to export control requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or have refugee/asylee status. The position offers the opportunity to work in multiple locations including Austin, Redmond, or San Diego, providing flexibility while working on this groundbreaking project.
