Description For Support Engineer, CMT, CMT Systems

Imagine being part of a team where your ideas have the potential to impact millions of consumers worldwide. Amazon pricing team is looking for a Support Engineer (DevOps, Systems, networking and Software Engineering skills) to own the existing infrastructure / create new infrastructure and automating operational/development work. This role involves identifying and resolving issues, automating and improving repetitive processes, and working closely with the development team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing operational issues
  • Developing monitoring solutions
  • Performing infrastructure maintenance and configuration
  • Updating, tracking, and resolving technical challenges
  • Working alongside development teams
  • Updating/enhancing current software
  • Automating support processes
  • Documenting systems

The ideal candidate will become intimate with the architecture of our systems and be responsible for diving deep into code, developing solutions for our customers and services. Required qualifications:

  • 4+ years of software development or technical support experience
  • Experience in troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Unix experience
  • Scripting skills in modern programming languages
  • Experience with agile/scrum or related collaborative workflows

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of distributed applications/enterprise applications
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems
  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting RESTful web API calls
