Description For Support Engineer, Managed Operations, ESC Managed Operations

AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a groundbreaking initiative in Utility Computing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join AWS Managed Operations team, where you'll be instrumental in building and leading operations for high-availability AWS services including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock for EU customers.

As a Support Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of the ESC launch in 2025, working alongside global AWS teams to influence service evolution and technology development. Your daily responsibilities will involve collaborating with technology leaders, enhancing operations, and ensuring optimal service performance metrics including availability, reliability, and latency.

  • Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025
  • Collaborate with global AWS teams
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations improvement
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of ESC

  • Resolve system issues and improve team services

Linux
  • Experience working with technical support problems across technology domains
  • Understanding and experience with Linux operating systems
  • Experience supporting cloud systems or software services
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and anticipating system problems
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Legal right to work in Ireland
