Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) is seeking a System Development Engineer to join their Platform Engineering and Services team. This role is crucial in powering Amazon's global fulfillment network, where you'll work on building and operating software, hardware, and processes that run the network of fulfillment centers handling millions of inventory units.
The team is developing a new Flow Control architecture to enable automated flow control from dock to dock (Inbound through Outbound). This architecture will provide standard interfaces for integrating new flow controllers, adapting to Amazon's evolving Fulfillment Center designs.
As an ideal candidate, you'll need deep hands-on experience in designing and developing highly scalable and highly available systems. You'll work closely with product, science, and operations stakeholders to deliver critical features and products. The role combines software development, systems engineering, and operational excellence.
The position offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, parental leave options, PTO, and a 401(k) plan. You'll be part of the AFT organization that harmonizes the physical and virtual world to ensure Amazon customers get what they want, when they want it.
The Platform Engineering and Services team specifically helps business and regional operations teams expand the fulfillment network by setting up necessary technology services for new buildings. This role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while solving complex logistical challenges at a global scale.
The compensation is competitive and varies by location, ranging from $116,300 to $201,200 per year base pay, plus additional benefits and potential equity compensation. Amazon values unique backgrounds and experiences, making this an excellent opportunity for skilled engineers looking to make an impact on global commerce infrastructure.
