Description For System Development Engineer, ESC

Join AWS as a System Development Engineer and be part of building the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on the behind-the-scenes software and tools that power AWS's network infrastructure. You'll join a world-class network team in a dynamic, startup-like environment where you'll deploy, manage, fix, and reinvent the tools and services that network engineering relies on.

As a System Development Engineer, you'll work closely with network engineer colleagues, sharing a common goal to serve customers and grow through learning and innovation. You'll be working in an Agile environment with advanced tools and processes, alongside talented professionals who are making cloud computing a reality.

The Systems Development team manages all software services and platforms that builds, operates, monitors, and assures the AWS network within an isolated region. You'll be responsible for maintaining team services, troubleshooting issues, and developing automation solutions to improve efficiency.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who want to build the cloud rather than just use it. You'll work on simplifying systems, managing production-quality tools, and providing technical solutions to real business problems in a global organization. The role offers the chance to be a catalyst in delivering disruptive products in a high-growth environment while learning from industry-recognized Amazon distinguished engineers.

The position requires strong Linux and networking fundamentals, troubleshooting capabilities, and programming skills in modern languages. Experience with cloud platforms and a passion for automation and system improvement are highly valued.
