Join Amazon Pay as a System Development Engineer-I in a role that offers exciting opportunities to tackle complex technical challenges while working with diverse customers worldwide. As part of the Amazon Payments team in Japan (JPP), you'll be responsible for managing payments for JP Stores business through payment acceptance, COP, and customer experience for both credit cards and non-card payments.

The position requires deep understanding of technology landscapes and evaluation of new technologies. You'll be an influential team member collaborating with peers and senior leaders to define and refine operational excellence standards across Amazon Pay. Your responsibilities span from handling support tickets and troubleshooting to developing tools for operations and maintenance.

You'll work with various technologies including Ruby, Rails, Java, Python, shell scripts, and AWS. The role involves maintaining SLAs through proactive issue detection, collaborating with development teams, and contributing to knowledge base development. You'll be part of a team managing successful merchant and marketplace integrations, including Amazon branded payment products like co-branded Credit Cards, Shop with Points, and Gift Cards.

Responsibilities For System Development Engineer-I, Amazon Pay

  • Handle incoming support tickets, troubleshoot, research root causes, and resolve defects
  • Provide software support in staging and production environments
  • Develop tools for operations and maintenance
  • Generate system and support status reports
  • Maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting
  • Read and understand complex application code and make code fixes
  • Work on operations and maintenance coding projects
