This role will be responsible for collaborating with OEMs on developing, standardizing, implementing, and troubleshooting controls, electrical, and hardware solutions for robotics and material handling systems. The Systems Development Engineer will act as a liaison for internal and external resources, and develop to meet scaling needs. They will define requirements and standards from individual work cells to large complex MHE integration across multiple vendors, balance controls and software integration between internal and external stakeholders, and provide commissioning support to the Operations Engineering Teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing specifications and technical details for equipment, material, and services
- Performing PLC and IPC control level issues and performance diagnosis
- Defining and measuring system performance KPIs
- Following industrial network security requirements and change management processes
- Providing detailed analysis and testing of engineering solutions
- Supporting new MHE systems deployments
- Undertaking industrial engineering design on material handling systems
- Providing technical documentation and supporting commissioning of new automation elements
- Participating in control projects and initiatives
- Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety procedures
- Using AutoCAD for electrical schematic and conveyor layout drawings
- Understanding and adhering to industry operating standards
- Supporting emulation and simulation modeling of material handling systems
- Documenting control system and equipment configuration changes
- Building effective relationships with FC stakeholders
- Conducting post go-live audits
The role requires up to 75% travel.
