System Development Engineer, Payments Engineering

As a System Development Engineer in the Payments Engineering team, you'll be working on large-scale distributed systems that power Amazon's payment processing capabilities. The role involves troubleshooting production software issues, developing automation tools, and maintaining mission-critical payment systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting production systems and resolving technical issues across multiple products and services
• Developing operations and maintenance tools using Ruby, Rails, Java, Python, and shell scripts
• Managing software deployments in staging and production environments
• Creating monitoring solutions and improving system operational excellence
• Handling customer notifications and maintaining service level agreements
