Description For Systems & Data Specialist, DC Design Engineering

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services is seeking a Systems & Data Specialist for their DC Design Engineering team. This role combines technical expertise in data analysis with engineering process management.

The position focuses on overseeing quality assurance and control process mapping for design documentation, working alongside Engineering, Power and Cooling (PAC), Security, Controls, and Commissioning teams. You'll be responsible for managing the intake and review of design consultant documentation while ensuring regulatory, legal, and security compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and administering critical project systems
  • Developing and maintaining reporting systems and dashboards
  • Leading process improvements and system optimization
  • Analyzing and modeling data for Data Center Design Engineering
  • Providing training and support to internal and external partners

Technical requirements include proficiency in SQL, Python, data modeling, and experience with various data warehousing solutions. The role requires strong analytical skills and experience with BI tools like PowerBI, AWS QuickSight, or Tableau.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $105,100 to $185,000 per year, depending on location, plus comprehensive benefits. As part of AWS Infrastructure Services, you'll join the team that keeps the cloud running, working on challenging problems that directly impact AWS's global infrastructure.

The role requires US citizenship due to AWS GovCloud access requirements and may involve up to 25% travel.   • Acting as system administrator on project critical systems
  • Provides training initiatives for internal and external partners
  • Prepare ad hoc reports on project's progress and KPIs
  • Manages and executes the vision and goals for the team
  • Develops, creates and maintains systems for reporting and tracking
  • Manage the business metrics reporting process
  • Own design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards
  • Conduct audits to ensure processes are being followed

Requirements For Systems & Data Specialist, DC Design Engineering

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or architecture, or 2+ years' experience as a project engineer
  • 2+ year of experience writing complex SQL queries and Python scripts
  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • US Citizenship required (for AWS GovCloud access)
