Description For Systems Engineer, ESC Managed Operations

AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a groundbreaking initiative in utility computing. This role is part of the AWS Managed Operations team, focusing on building and leading operations for high-availability AWS services specifically for EU customers. The position involves working with core AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock.

As a Systems Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of the ESC launch in 2025, collaborating with global AWS teams to shape the future of AWS services. Your daily responsibilities will include working with technology leaders, improving operations, and ensuring optimal service performance across availability, reliability, latency, and efficiency metrics.

The role requires participation in on-call rotations for incident response and combines technical expertise with operational leadership. You'll be part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), which drives product innovations from foundational services to cutting-edge features that differentiate AWS in the industry.
