Description For Systems Engineer, Managed Operations

AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a major advancement in utility computing. This role within the AWS Managed Operations team is crucial for building and leading operations teams that will deliver high-availability AWS services specifically for EU customers. The position involves working with core AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock.

As a Systems Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of the ESC launch in 2025, collaborating with global AWS teams and shaping the future of AWS services. Your daily responsibilities will include working with technology leaders, improving operations, and ensuring optimal service performance metrics including availability, reliability, and efficiency.

The role requires participation in on-call rotations and demands a strong background in systems engineering with at least 5 years of experience. You'll need expertise in hardware, software, networking, and operating systems, along with proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Ruby.
