Senior Transportation Engineer

America At Work is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to provide engineering expertise on highway projects. This role involves working on roadway studies and design, drainage and utility systems, preliminary and final design, preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, project scheduling, and large, complex highway corridors.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months. Experience with Department of Transportation and Development or similar State DOT and/or local government agencies in developing, delivering, and managing highway design projects is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the design of medium to large multi-disciplined transportation projects
• Working with multi-office projects and/or multiple projects
• Using roadway design software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD (Civil 3d)
• Preparing technical approaches and work plans for RFQs and technical proposals
• Demonstrating leadership, communication, mentoring, and client liaison skills

The role requires proficiency in Microsoft software suite and business acumen including negotiation skills. Preferred skills include experience with Open Road Designer (ORD) and established relationships with key clients.
