This role is crucial in developing and maintaining high-fidelity 6 DOF simulation software for their autonomous drone fleet, including Ghost, Anvil, Altius, and Bolt.

The position requires an experienced engineer with a strong background in guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems, particularly for airborne platforms. You'll be responsible for implementing, analyzing, and validating GNC software solutions that support autonomous drone operations in challenging environments, including GPS-denied conditions.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of professional experience in GNC or related roles, with deep expertise in modeling and simulation of dynamic systems. You'll work with state-of-the-art technology, developing flight controllers and guidance algorithms while collaborating closely with the flight software team to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

Responsibilities For Senior GNC Software Simulation Engineer

  • Develop, debug, and test flight controllers and guidance algorithms
  • Develop and test Software-In-The-Loop and Hardware-In-The-Loop tests
  • Work with flight software team to define requirements and integrate GNC software
  • Review test data to verify vehicle performance and debug incidents
  • Develop models to support functional evaluation of GNC software

Requirements For Senior GNC Software Simulation Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 8 years professional experience in GNC or related role
  • Proficiency in Matlab, Simulink, Simulink Embedded Coder, C++, and Python
  • Experience in modeling and simulation of linear and nonlinear dynamic systems
  • Experience in mathematical modeling of aerodynamics, rotorcraft dynamics, sensors and actuators
  • Expertise in numerical methods for engineering
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret security clearance
