Software Engineer, Product

Anthropic is seeking a Software Engineer to join their product team and help build interfaces and APIs for large language models. This role involves working with a team of engineers and researchers to design and implement key components of Anthropic's product and platform.

Key responsibilities include:

• Building core components of the API to access large language models
• Writing integrations with third-party providers for billing, email, etc.
• Developing conversational interfaces leveraging language models
• Optimizing API and interfaces for performance, robustness, and usability
• Implementing tools to monitor model behavior and performance
• Collaborating with researchers to improve interfaces based on user interactions

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of practical software engineering experience, especially with APIs and robust user interfaces
• Strong coding skills and experience with service-oriented architectures
• A product-focused approach emphasizing scalable, robust, and user-friendly solutions
• Enthusiasm for working on cutting-edge AI safety and conversational AI problems
• Enjoyment of pair programming

Additional desirable qualifications include:

• Experience working with NLP and ML models
• Familiarity with REST APIs
• Experience with React and frontend frameworks
