Appian Corporation is seeking a Federal Sales Engineer to join their team in McLean, Virginia. This role is crucial in driving digital transformation by bringing Appian solutions that provide speed, agility, and efficiency needed to compete and grow.
As a Federal Sales Engineer, you will:
- Actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process
- Work with the sales team as the key technical adviser and product advocate
- Design high-quality technical Proof of Concepts
- Present technical and business aspects of proposed solutions to various audiences
- Assist in producing RFPs and other proposals for Federal clients
- Illustrate the value of Appian's platform across target accounts
- Identify technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process
- Represent Appian's product at field events and assist with radiation strategy
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 4+ years as a successful Pre-Sales Engineer OR in a client-facing Professional Services/Consulting role
- Experience with modern programming languages (Java, C#, Python, C++, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, XML, XSL)
- Enterprise software sales experience (preferably with Business Process Management or Low Code Platforms)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills
- Familiarity with production environments (application servers, web servers, databases)
- Willingness to travel 10% to customer locations
