Description For Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer

At Apple, we're seeking an exceptional Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer to join our Hardware team in Cupertino. As an Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer, you'll be part of a team that fosters excellence, creativity, and innovation in custom analog design. The role involves architecting and designing analog/mixed-signal circuit blocks, conducting detailed feasibility studies, and managing the entire design cycle from conception to production.

Your responsibilities will span from initial architecture and design through verification and validation, including supervising layout implementation, conducting post-layout simulations, and ensuring top-level integration success. You'll also play a crucial role in defining test plans for silicon validation and production, collecting lab measurements, and reviewing test results for debugging and design correlation.

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with a strong track record in delivering silicon IPs. You should possess deep knowledge of analog/mixed-signal design, including high-precision techniques and process variation mitigation. Your expertise should cover fundamental circuits such as bandgaps, bias generation, op-amps, and various other analog components.

Responsibilities For Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer

  • Architect Analog/Mixed-Signal circuit blocks, and conduct transistor-level feasibility studies
  • Design, verify, document, and review Analog/Mixed-Signal blocks throughout the design cycle
  • Supervise Analog/Mixed-Signal layout implementation and mask design
  • Verify, document, and review post-layout performance
  • Run post-layout and top-level simulations and verify top-level integration
  • Define test plans for silicon validation and production
  • Collect lab measurements to establish performance and specification compliance
  • Review test results and yield data for debugging and design correlation and provide design mitigations

Requirements For Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer

Python
  • BS with 3+ years of relevant experience required
  • Strong track record in delivering silicon IPs with complete architecture, design, verification, and validation experience
  • Strong knowledge and analytical understanding of Analog/Mixed-Signal design including high precision techniques and process variation mitigation
  • Hands-on experience in and in-depth understanding of variety of fundamental Analog/Mixed-Signal circuits
  • Experience in design for ESD compliance and safety
  • Strong device physics knowledge as it applies to analog IC design
  • Hands-on experience in using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc. for design validation
  • Experience in one or more of Matlab/Python/VerilogA modeling/C
