Description For ASIC Design Engineer - Pixel IP

Apple's Silicon Technologies group is seeking an ASIC Design Engineer to help design and manufacture next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient system-on-chip (SoC). This role is part of a multimedia IP design effort working with all teams, having a critical impact on delivering functional products to millions of customers.

The position involves collaborating with the architecture team to develop microarchitecture specifications and interfaces for pixel-processing IP. You'll be responsible for performing feasibility analysis on architectures and algorithms, implementing RTL design and logic, and integrating various subsystems with both internal and external IPs.

As an ASIC Design Engineer, you'll need strong experience in media, video, pixel, or display designs, along with a solid understanding of timing/area/complexity tradeoffs for sophisticated data path design. Familiarity with common on-chip bus protocols and industry exposure to ASIC/FPGA design methodology is essential.

Responsibilities For ASIC Design Engineer - Pixel IP

  • Collaborate with the architecture team to write microarchitecture specifications and define interfaces for pixel-processing IP
  • Perform feasibility analysis on suggested architecture(s) and algorithm(s)
  • Perform RTL design and logic implementation of agreed architecture
  • Integrate subsystems that have both internal and external IPs
  • Perform front-end implementation tasks such as synthesis, logic equivalence check, and STA
