At Apple, we are seeking a Battery Algorithm and Modeling Engineer to work on the forefront of Battery Systems. In this role, you will apply your skills as a modeling and algorithm engineer to design and develop future battery algorithms and models for next-generation consumer electronic products. You will be part of a multi-functional team developing a new class of battery systems involving algorithms, architectures, and products as we improve the utility of batteries.
Key responsibilities include: • Developing algorithms to estimate State of charge and State of Power of batteries. • Creating machine learning algorithms or mathematical models to predict lifetime cell electrical performance. • Developing advanced battery models and control algorithms to improve battery performance in the system. • Designing models to estimate and optimize cell and pack performance in the design phase. • Developing simulation models and tools to evaluate new algorithms. • Reducing the complexity of estimation algorithms for implementation in resource-constrained computing platforms.
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in mathematical modeling of linear and nonlinear dynamical systems, optimization, time series analysis, state estimation, and control algorithms. Experience with Li-ion battery modeling, efficient code writing for large data set analysis, and C/C++ programming is highly valued.
