Description For Battery Management System Electrical Engineer

Apple is seeking a talented Battery Management System Electrical Engineer to join their Battery Engineering group. This role combines creativity and technical expertise to develop innovative battery solutions that push the boundaries of energy efficiency and performance.

As a Battery Management System Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and testing battery monitoring units and Battery Management Units (BMU) for next-generation consumer electronic products. Your work will directly impact Apple's product lineup, helping to deliver more energy in smaller spaces than ever before.

The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Product Design, System EE, Cell Engineering, Firmware, and Algorithms teams. You'll apply your electronics design expertise to create detailed circuit designs, perform thorough analysis, and select appropriate electronic components to meet performance targets.

Key responsibilities include developing schematics and BOMs, creating PCB layout guidelines, working with suppliers on custom components, and implementing comprehensive test methodologies. You'll use advanced simulation tools like PSPICE and ANSYS to verify designs and conduct thorough validation of prototypes.

The ideal candidate brings strong EE fundamentals, experience with microcontroller-based embedded systems, and familiarity with various communication protocols. You should be a self-starter with excellent time management skills and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements For Battery Management System Electrical Engineer

  • Experience in analog and/or power electronics design
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout design for mixed signal boards
  • Design validation of new silicon or prototype bring up
  • Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Knowledge of inter-module communications protocols
  • Experience with high volume manufacturing
  • Knowledge of scripting (Python, Shell, Unix, MATLAB, etc.)
