Description For CoreOS Power & Performance LabOps Engineer

Apple is seeking a results-driven and meticulously organized lab engineer for the CoreOS Power and Performance Lab Operations team. This role involves managing a fleet of Apple devices for automated and manual test systems critical for QA and development of all Apple's operating systems. You'll work with the latest Apple hardware and software, supporting thousands of lab devices and developing automation tools to maintain and expand the fleet.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a fleet of thousands of Apple devices and peripherals
  • Ensuring devices and systems are up and available for testing
  • Provisioning and deployment of released/unreleased hardware
  • Debugging and troubleshooting device hardware/software failures
  • Developing scripts and automation for managing machine configuration and software deployment
  • Providing support to engineering in debugging systems

The ideal candidate should enjoy working on infrastructure, handle multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment, and foster growth, teamwork, and innovation.

Required skills:

  • Experience with shell scripting or Python
  • Knowledge of Ansible or other configuration management tools
  • Familiarity with Git or other source control systems
  • Experience with administrating/troubleshooting macOS, iOS
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with RESTful services
  • Experience working with Splunk
  • Core understanding of LAN network infrastructure
  • Experience with common data center infrastructure
  • Experience working in fast-paced engineering environments
