Description For Custom Circuit RTL Design Engineer

Apple's Silicon Technologies group is seeking a Custom Circuit RTL Design Engineer to join their Digital Circuits Group. This role focuses on designing and manufacturing next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions.

The position involves working with the custom circuits team to implement behavioral and structural RTL models of advanced custom digital circuits, translate specifications into assertions models, and verify equivalence of RTL models to circuits. You'll be at the heart of processor design efforts, making critical impacts on delivering products to market quickly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement behavioral RTL models for custom SRAM arrays
  • Collaborate with logic/architecture teams on specifications
  • Work closely with custom circuit teams on schematic reviews
  • Partner with DV teams for functionality verification
  • Integrate custom RTL designs into chip with SOC teams

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree with 3+ years relevant experience
  • Strong digital design and RTL coding knowledge
  • Proficiency in Verilog and System Verilog
  • Experience with industry-standard simulation tools
  • Understanding of custom circuit schematics

Responsibilities For Custom Circuit RTL Design Engineer

  • Design and implement behavioral RTL models for various custom SRAM arrays
  • Work with logic/architecture team to determine specifications and assertions
  • Work closely with custom circuit team to review schematics
  • Work closely with DV teams to verify functionality
  • Work with SOC teams to successfully integrate custom RTL design into chip

Requirements For Custom Circuit RTL Design Engineer

  • BS and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • In-depth knowledge of digital design, behavioral and structural RTL coding
  • Knowledge of Verilog, System Verilog
  • Experience with industry standard simulators and waveform debugging tools
  • Knowledge of scripting language (python / perl)
  • Basic knowledge of viewing and understanding custom circuit schematics
