Description For Display Silicon Architect

As a Display Silicon Architect at Apple, you will lead the development of ICs for next-generation cutting-edge displays for iPad, MacBook, and iMac. Your responsibilities will span all aspects of display silicon design, including architecting and generating engineering specifications, managing vendors, overseeing IC design schedules, and promoting innovation to enhance display performance and user experience. You'll work with external vendors and internal design teams throughout all phases of silicon development, from defining architecture and requirements to validating functionality and performance in modules and systems, and qualifying ICs for mass production. This highly visible role requires expertise in IC design, analog circuit design, and excellent debugging skills. You'll need to balance aggressive work objectives, demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, and have familiarity with simulation tools like Cadence and MATLAB.

Responsibilities For Display Silicon Architect

  • Architect and generate engineering specifications for display silicon
  • Provide performance trade-offs with system/module team to determine optimized silicon architecture
  • Manage vendors from specification to design, tape out, and mass production
  • Manage overall IC design schedules and support cross-functional engineering efforts
  • Promote innovation and new technology to enhance Display performance and user experience

Requirements For Display Silicon Architect

Java
  • BS degree
  • Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Experience with whole IC design cycle from specification to tape out and design validation
  • Analog circuit design experience including high-speed SERDES, operational amplifiers, ADC/DAC, LDO, and reference generator
  • Excellent IC and board level debugging skills
  • Familiarity with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzers
  • Good written/verbal communication, organizational and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with Cadence simulation tools and/or MATLAB
  • Experience in vendor technical management
  • Knowledge in LCD/OLED displays, image quality, or graphics subsystem
