Description For Embedded Software Engineering Manager - Cellular Modem Software

The Wireless Technologies team is looking for highly motivated Cellular modem SW engineering managers to develop our next generation of cellular products. You will work on modem firmware architecture, design, development and implementation in the Platform SW group in WTE department. You'll engage with BSP team, software team, platform architecture team, hardware team, and other engineering disciplines to deliver high-performance outstanding modem for wireless products.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead firmware-related initiatives
  • Architect, design, develop, and maintain hardware and software systems for Apple products
  • Lead large and complex projects, including feature planning, prioritization, status tracking, and issue triage and reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of validated experience in wireless SoC firmware engineering
  • Experience in engineering management, including prior leadership of wireless firmware team(s)
  • Strong embedded SW fundamentals
  • Familiarity with low-level hardware interfaces
  • Experience with configuration and release management, continuous integration, and regression testing
  • Knowledge of design strategies for maintainability, scalability, and code reuse
  • Understanding of wireless systems, MAC and PHY layer operations, digital signal processing
  • M.S. in EE, CE, CS, or equivalent industry experience
