Infrastructure Software Engineer, Retail Engineering

Mobile Device Management (MDM) plays a critical role keeping devices secure at Apple and is an essential tool that helps us deliver an experience that meets the high expectations of our store's employees.

As an Infrastructure Software Engineer in the Retail Engineering team, you'll be responsible for ensuring MDM software and associated applications run efficiently and scale as required to support retail stores worldwide. You'll need expertise in containerization, cloud technologies, and security while working with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.

Key responsibilities include managing Kubernetes clusters, working with cloud environments (AWS, GCP), and implementing security best practices. You'll be expected to drive continuous improvement through automation and metrics, while maintaining high-performance systems that support Apple's retail operations globally.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills in containerization, cloud platforms, and programming (Go, Java, or Python), combined with excellent communication abilities to work effectively with both technical and business teams. Experience with MDM systems, iOS/macOS support, and monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus is highly valued.
