Description For iPad Touch HW - Touch EE Engineer

The Sensor Technology team at Apple develops cutting-edge sensor solutions that are central to Apple's products. This role focuses on enabling world-class user experiences through state-of-the-art sensor solutions, particularly for high-precision, low-latency multi-touch and stylus sensors. As a Touch EE Engineer, you'll work in a collaborative environment that fosters engineering excellence and innovation.

You'll be responsible for sensor technology development, from proof-of-concept to production implementation. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with various technology teams, providing technical leadership, and driving sensor and module design. You'll work on end-to-end applications, including sensor, signal processing, and ASIC configurations.

Key aspects of the role include optimizing designs across multiple disciplines (Mechanical, Materials, Process, FW/SW), conducting failure mode analysis, and performing system-level problem solving. You'll use your expertise in electrical engineering, particularly in analog and mixed-signal design, to develop next-generation touch solutions for iPad products.

  • Sensor technology scoping and proof-of-concept investigations
  • Support Product definition, Market Surveys, Competitive Analysis
  • Collaborate with different technology teams to evaluate System design options
  • Cross-functional leadership and mentoring
  • Sensor & Module design and modeling
  • End-to-end application definition and design
  • Design analysis, characterization, and validation
  • Failure mode analysis and root cause diagnosis

Requirements For iPad Touch HW - Touch EE Engineer

  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
  • Strong logical thought process and analytical skill set
  • Electrical engineering background in analog and mixed-signal design
  • Hands-on experience in system-level design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in FEA (Comsol, ANSYS, Maxwell) MATLAB, SPICE, or similar simulation tools
