Description For Manufacturing Quality Engineer - Enclosures

As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer - Enclosures, you will be part of the Manufacturing Design team, leading the development of quality processes for new and exciting parts. You will define quality, metrology, and process requirements, and participate in designing new manufacturing processes from the ground up.

In this highly visible role, you will:

  • Partner with tooling and functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase
  • Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods
  • Develop and implement groundbreaking quality inspection tools
  • Compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits for process and part specification
  • Lead activities to balance unparalleled quality with scalable yields
  • Collaborate with internal and external groups to ensure proper quality expectations
  • Establish audit procedures to ensure alignment with Apple quality standards
  • Evaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processes
  • Drive corrective actions with internal and external team members

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and Quality Control
  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or similar)
  • Willingness to travel internationally to supplier sites (30% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and corrective actions
  • Knowledge of mechanical quality concepts, supplier management, and manufacturing operations
  • Experience with measurement systems development and evaluation
  • Project management skills and understanding of problem-solving tools
  • Experience with mechanical enclosures, castings, plastic parts, or high-volume manufacturing
  • International experience, particularly in Asia
