Description For Realtime Rendering and Graphics Software Engineer

Join Apple's Maps team in developing industry-leading 3D experiences for Apple Maps and third-party developers. As a Realtime Rendering and Graphics Software Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of creating spectacular interactive graphics experiences that reach millions of users worldwide. The role involves working on the rendering engine that powers Apple Maps across all devices, from Apple Watch to Apple Vision Pro.

You'll be part of a passionate team that pushes the boundaries of map rendering technology, developing innovative algorithms and techniques to provide an outstanding Maps user experience. The position requires expertise in 3D realtime rendering, C++ programming, and modern graphics APIs, along with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

  • Design, prototype, and implement solutions for rendering interactive world models
  • Develop algorithms and techniques for Maps user-experience

  • Optimize rendering performance across different Apple devices

Requirements For Realtime Rendering and Graphics Software Engineer

  • BA/BS and 5 years working on 3D realtime rendering applications
  • High proficiency in writing safe, performant C++ code
  • Knowledge of the graphics pipeline, modern rendering techniques, and image processing
  • Experience with modern graphics APIs (Metal, Vulkan, Direct3D 12, WebGPU) and shading languages
  • Ability to solve problems in 3D geometry using linear algebra
  • Experience with all stages of software development, from prototyping to performance optimization
  • Solid debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding teamwork and communication skills
  • Passionate about owning and refining features
