Description For RF Systems Engineer

Apple is seeking an experienced RF Systems Engineer to join their wireless SOC organization. This role is central to the Connectivity Radio Group, where you'll be responsible for developing groundbreaking wireless silicon solutions for Apple's products.

As a senior member of the RF system engineering team, you'll work on sophisticated projects that push the boundaries of wireless technology. The position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams including Platform Architecture, Product Systems, PHY Algorithm Systems, and RFIC Design to develop complete RF specifications and innovative architectures.

The role requires deep expertise in RF system engineering, including transceiver architectures, line-up analysis, and performance budgeting. You'll be responsible for analyzing various Radio line-up topologies, developing system-level simulations, and validating silicon implementations to ensure they meet all RF system specifications.

The ideal candidate brings 20+ years of relevant industry experience, with proven expertise in RF system specifications, developments, and validations. You should have a solid understanding of RFIC architecture, wireless standards, and key RF performance metrics. Experience with tools like MATLAB, SimuLink, or ADS is essential.

Responsibilities For RF Systems Engineer

  • Perform rigorous analysis of Radio line-up topologies
  • Develop complete RF specifications for silicon and module-level designs
  • Develop innovative RF architectures
  • Introduce RF system features with digitally enhanced innovations
  • Produce RF line-up specifications with RFIC design team
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure for system-level simulation
  • Validate silicon and drive revisions for RF system specifications
  • Support delivery of new wireless technologies to Product Systems teams

Requirements For RF Systems Engineer

  • BS and 20+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Proven experience in RF system specifications, developments and validations
  • RF system engineering experience including RF transceiver architectures
  • Solid understanding of RFIC architecture, design concepts, and techniques
  • Deep Understanding of key RF performance metrics
  • Familiarity with wireless standards (IEEE 802.11, 802.15, Bluetooth or 3GPP)
  • Hands on experience with RFIC System validation methods and test equipment
  • Working understanding of communications theory and signal processing algorithms
  • Working understanding of digital architecture principles
  • Strong working knowledge of MATLAB, SimuLink, SystemVue, or ADS
