Secure Systems Engineer - Platform Architecture

Apple's Platform Architecture group is seeking a Secure Systems Engineer to join their team focused on securing the world's most advanced consumer devices. This role involves defining architecture and overseeing distributed web services that enforce security policy for Apple products' development, manufacture, deployment, and operation.

The position requires leading cross-functional teams throughout product development cycles, identifying emerging threats, developing threat models, and defining security architectures for new Apple products. You'll be responsible for creating detailed system-level specifications, driving security requirements into web application services, and championing industry-leading security technologies across multiple product categories.

As a Platform Architect, you'll work at the intersection of hardware, software, and servers, helping to create a unified secure system. The role demands both technical expertise in security architecture and strong leadership skills to guide teams lacking resident security expertise. You'll be instrumental in maintaining the trust millions of customers place in their devices daily.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading cross-functional initiatives to resolve system-level security issues
• Developing threat models and security architectures for new products
• Creating detailed specifications for product development and integration
• Implementing security requirements in web application services
• Collaborating with Infrastructure, Privacy, Safety, Service, Manufacturing, Software, and Product Development teams

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of cryptographic principles, HSM-based security applications, and data center security, combined with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple organizational boundaries.
