Senior Cloud Traffic Engineer, Apple Pay

Apple is seeking a Senior Cloud Traffic Engineer for their Apple Pay team. This role is part of the Software and Services division, responsible for managing internal and external traffic in a complex, distributed environment with strict privacy and security requirements. The team focuses on modernization, reliability, and observability of Wallets, Payments, and Commerce traffic infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring high uptime and service quality for Apple's customers through operational excellence
• Designing, maintaining, and improving global production traffic infrastructure
• Owning reliability issues using various tools
• Identifying areas to improve service resiliency through chaos engineering, performance/load testing, and game days

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of load balancing, service mesh, and edge deployments, as well as familiarity with Networking, Security, Logging, and Application Monitoring. They should be able to maintain customer commitments, navigate business complexities, and have excellent communication skills. The role also involves coaching and mentoring other Individual Contributors.

This position offers a competitive base pay range of $166,600 to $296,300, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
